I have spent the past three years exploring parenthood and the vulnerabilities that it brings. My thesis closed the chapter on insecurity and opened a new one for me to document parenthood in a new way. This year, I decided to showcase parenthood as it is. Each day, I will capture a photograph from a moment in my family's personal life. They won't be perfect because, like life, nothing is, you take what you can get. This year will bring many journeys for my family, and I can't wait to share them with you.

So here is days 1-31, or the month of January to be exact. Enjoy!

Day 1 | January 1, 2017 New Years brought a very rambunctious toddler to us. Thinking he would fall asleep right after the ball dropped, we were in for quite the surprise when he decided to play for a few more hours.

Day 2 | January 2, 2017 Slowly, but surely, I will get my website revamped. Even if it means staying up all night to do so. Mom life right?

Day 3 | January 3, 2017 Daddy's boy had to help him make breakfast. Which consisted of leftovers becuase who really has time to actually cook it?

Day 4 | January 4, 2017 I have been working forever to get AJ to use a straw. It's like pulling teeth. How I bribe him? Starbucks teas. He is his mama's boy.

Day 5 | January 5, 2017 This toybox was made by my great-grandpa when I was younger. I battled my sister for months for it after AJ was born. Each day, AJ is allowed to take one toy out (I try to hide as many as I can in there that he never touches in hopes he will forget about them and they can make their grand venture to the basement) and each day his dad allows him to get more out. It's a never endign struggle that I am determined to win one day... in a decade maybe.

Day 6 | January 6, 2017 AJ turned two today. Since we were planning a party this upcoming weekend, he was allowed to open one little toy from mama. He has an obsession with the little wooden Thomas trains, so you can guess what his present was. Needless to say, he loved them.

Day 7 | January 7, 2017 Lots of errand running today, between the different stores to grab all of AJ's party supplies, it was nice to get back home and relax the rest of the day. Plus, it is way too cold out for me!

Day 8 | January 8, 2017 AJ's birthday party! I kept it small this year and it was a family only event. Even though it was small, AJ was surrounded by so much love I couldn't be more grateful. Plus, he loves his new activity table for his new train sets.

Day 9 | January 9, 2017 Naptime works both for Mommy as it does AJ. So much peace in one photo before he woke up and terrorized my living room again. lol

Day 10 | January 10, 2017 Someone had to help mommy cook... Otherwise we all would have starved.

Day 11 | January 11, 2017 We attempted some pictures tonight. I had to bribe Antonio with a new game to even take these, but in the end it wa so worth it.

Day 12 | January 12, 2017 We are slowly starting to show AJ the potty, so we can start training him after our trip to North Carolina. At least now, he only tries to play in the water once every three months, but now he likes ripping off toliet paper and throwing it in. Progress right?

Day 13 | January 13, 2017 Friday the 13th was a little rough this morning. Crabby toddler, and I didn't even get the chance to make it through my coffee before we went grocery shopping. Oh well, at least it was Friday.

Day 14 | January 14, 2017 Getting AJ to sleep in his own bed has been a struggle. So far I only win on naptime. I blame his dad, he caves at night haha.

Day 15 | January 15, 2017 This mornings "Are you pooping?" conversation with a very relunctant toddler to answer.

Day 16 | January 16, 2017 One way to make your toddler happy. Let them run around naked after their bath and listen to "Try Everything" from the Zootopia movie. It's one way to conquer a Monday morning.

Day 17 | January 17, 2017 Bringing your child with you to work sometimes has its benefits, majority of the time though, it has it downfalls. Like, never getting the computer to yourself to go through the financials for year end. He likes being Mommy's helper though.

Day 18 | January 18, 2017 Today was appointment running day. Antonio and I had an orthondontist appointment to go to, then AJ had his two year check up. He liked watching the "Nemo" and "Dory" fish in the aquarium though.

Day 19 | January 19, 2017 This is how AJ's dinner stay all night. Never touched. How does one get thier toddler to actually eat? It had become pulling teeth to do lately.

Day 20 | January 20, 2017 Today, we had to get everything around for our long trip to North Carolina. And of course, AJ wanted to drive in Grandpa's parking lot before he got in his carseat.

Day 21 | January 21, 2017 We drove all night, stopping every three hours so AJ could get out and strech his legs. Mom needed lots of coffee, so AJ had to be like me with his own coffee cup. (Don't worry, it's chocolate milk)

Day 22 | January 22, 2017 Aunt Renee and Mom decided to relax all day after being up all night. AJ had other plans, he chased Felisha's cat all over.

Day 23 | January 23, 2017 Bathtime fun before we go explore Wilmington.

Day 24 | January 24, 2017 We had a play date today. This big boy finally got the courage up to go down the big slide all by himself.

Day 25 | January 25, 2017 Mom life isn't complete without Target and Starbucks.

Day 26 | January 26, 2017 Who doesn't love Froyo? AJ got to experience the greatness of Fuzzy Peach for the first time today! He loved it!

Day 27 | January 27, 2017 Someone was feeling extra lazy today. Lots of naps and snoozing today.

Day 28 | January 28, 2017 Today, we explored Downtown Wilmington some more. I love One Tree Hill, so of course, we have to go to all the locations it was filmed. The famous opening bridge. <3

Day 29 | January 29, 2017 AJ loves the park and playing on the slide. After a sunrise photoshoot, we had to stop by the park for him to play before we met up with Daddy.

Day 30 | January 30, 2017 Leftover Ihop for breakfast. I can't get over him eating the waffle like it was a pizza slice. HA!

Day 31 | January 31, 2017 We stopped in Ohio so Antonio could visit with some old friends. AJ found my stash of flaming hot funyons that I bought the gas station out of. I guess I understand why I craved them so much when I was pregnant. He loves them, even when his mouth gets hot he keeps on eating lol.
